
The short hairstyle revolution for modern women began in the 1920s when women became free from many of their confines including the confines of long tresses. The 1940s continued the short hairstyle trend for women more because of its easy care features in times of scarcity and war.
Vidal Sassoon brought a new trend in short hairstyles in the 1960s called the five point cut where hair was cut stylishly eliminating the need fro painful contraptions like rollers and irons to keep hair in place. The most recent trends in short hairstyles for women is the short choppy Meg Ryan style bob. Women began their freedom movement by cutting their hair short and continue to enjoy easy to manage short hair styles even today.
